Carla Chugani is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with adults in both residential and outpatient settings. Carla completed her undergraduate degree in Opera Performance at Mannes College, The New School for Music in 2006. She completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2010, where she also developed and ran the counseling center’s DBT program. Carla is intensively trained in DBT and specializes in applying DBT with college students with Borderline Personality Disorder.
In 2013, Carla moved to Tampa to begin working on her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of South Florida. Her line of research is focused on adaptions of DBT for college counseling settings and management of behavioral issues on college campuses. She is passionate about training the next generation of counselors to provide high quality treatment that is both compassionate and evidence-based.
Carla has a limited availability for clients due to her PhD work and research. It is wonderful to have a researcher with us and she brings so much to our consultation team!
