The Florida Borderline Personality Disorder Association is proud to honor BPD and Mental Health Awareness Month by providing a webinar on a new adaptation of DBT, “Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C)”. Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children (DBT-C) was developed by Francheska Perepletchikova, Ph.D.  Prior to the Development of DB T-C, DBT was only researched and available for teens and adults.  DBT-C now allows us to provide cutting edge psychological and behavioral techniques to children and parents as young as 6.  DBT-C treats children with severe behavioral and emotional dysregulation disorders.  This includes the following symptoms and behaviors: verbally and/or physically attacking others; thoughts and/or suicide attempts; thoughts and/or engaging in non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors; impulsive behaviors; school refusal; anxiety; depression; eating disorders.

Kelly E. Turner, LCSW has been providing DBT to children, teens, and adults in the Tampa Bay area since 2011.  She is trained in DBT, RO-DBT, DBT-PTSD, and DBT-C.  This is an introduction to DBT-C.  You will learn who DBT-C is intended for and the main tenants of the treatment. This introduction is intended to be informative for those that want to learn more about DBT-C and if it is a good fit for their family or practice.  This is not intended to serve as a training or certification in DBT-C.

Date and Time: May 29, 2026. 12:00 PM -1:30 PM EST

Cost: $50 for Clinicians. For family members or others, we will graciously accept any donation to help FBPDA with our mission to provide the free supportive groups, classes and information. To make this payment/donation link to https://fbpda.org/donate/ . Florida Borderline Personality Disorder Association is the only 501(c)(3) organization of its kind serving over 18 million Floridians. Currently, there are very few treatment programs within our state specifically geared toward BPD . There are many Floridians who are anxious for trustworthy knowledge and for referrals to clinicians who are fully trained and experienced in providing the gold standard, evidenced-based treatment of Dialectical Behavior Therapy with adherence to help people and their families who are diagnosed with BPD and other complex mental health conditions. FBPDA is a fiscally-conservative and small organization that operates with a budget of a little less than $1,000 per month. We need your donations if we are to continue our good work. We are also looking for volunteers who would like to help with our mission whether it is to join the Board of Directors or provide some assistance with social media, fund raising or other projects.
